Moo moos and Singers

The day Sam and I made salsa we also went over to check the cows. I enjoy getting on the 4 wheeler with my husband to check the cows - just don't make me sort the mamas from the babies - that's a story for another day. (can you say bovine-induced stress syndrome? - it's a real thing)

Anyway - here is Sam unloading the 4 wheeler. Please note his cut off jean shorts. He's been living in those things this summer. Pick your battles, ladies.

Yup, even I got on the 4 wheeler

The cows and calves looked nice that day, except the flies were bothering them. Since this picture the bull calves became steers. Quite the process, and I have the evidence in my freezer

Remember the title of this blog, something about singers? Well, I spent last weekend at a craft retreat sewing with my grandma's 1980-something Singer sewing machine. It held up really well - we had a little talk and she obeyed, most of the time. My cousins invited me to the retreat where we get together at a hunting lodge outside of Mitchell and everyone brings their own craft projects to work on. Some ladies worked on quilts, others aprons, me, a baby blankie. It was fun to sew for 2-3 days straight and create and finish a project! Check it out - it's a rag blanket - I think I need to wash it a few more times to increase the "ragging", but you get the picture. Note the gender neutral fabric. I decided gender neutral fabric is not as fun as gender specific fabric. But it's what I had to work with:

Sideways picture, but the print flannel says, I love Mommy, I love Daddy

Baby, I hope your ready for some serious snuggle time. Mama and Daddy love blankies!

Here is a photo of the woman that kept all of us entertained all weekend. She has crazy stories, but is a truly caring woman. She was very excited that I was expecting! Here is a photo of her helping my cousin Stephanie with an apron.

Here is a small glimpse into what the crafting room/garage looks like. I was perched under the window all weekend. As you can tell there were a variety of ages of woman, but it was really fun as we all shared the common love of sewing! Thanks for the invite girls, I hope I get the privilege of getting invited again! :)

Well, baby that's our life lately. Up next, Daddy shows Mama how to shoot his 9mm. You are now 15 weeks into your development. I still can't believe sometimes that there in another human growing inside me. Isn't God amazing? They say in 2-4 weeks I will feel you move - now I'm definitely looking forward to that. Until then, I'm content just being in awe that you really are growing like a weed in there. I pray you will grow up to have hobbies (sewing or cows or shooting guns) and enjoy small earthly pleasures while being reassured that your true treasure is in Heaven!
